Udita Mukherjee is from Kolkata, India. She loves women uplifting women, sad lyrics with happy tunes and exaggerating stories to an absurd degree. Her short story ‘The Lemon and the Window’ was selected for the March 2021 issue of Kloud9 whose editor-in-chief is Ruskin Bond. Kloud9 also published her poem which used a broken glass lamp as a metaphor for people being treated like abused possessions in their April 2021 issue. The first play she wrote titled Appendix was chosen by Bombay Theatre Company for The Theatre Project 2020 and can be found in the IGTV section of their Instagram page

A poem she penned calling out the patriarchy was part of Atlanta-based Wimsikal Press’ May 2021 issue of Get Down, Ladies – a DIY zine reminiscent of the Riot Grrrl movement. Her six word piece was selected for Orange Blush Zine’s first micro-poetry issue in which the visual artists picked the pieces they wanted their art to reflect

She was one of the winners of the international short story writing contest, Penfluenza, and her story has been published internationally in a book titled ‘Wafting Earthy’. Her entry for Writefluence’s Femmefluenza, a contest celebrating womanhood and recognising its struggles, was one of the winners and can be found in ‘Out of my Box’.
