Sudipto Chattopadhyay is an author, film-maker, screenplay writer, poet, lyricist, a creative director, an engaging chat show host, a social commentator and a film and television producer with over 28 years of experience. He has produced and directed over 1500 hours of television shows in the fiction and non-fiction categories. He has written successful films like Dus Kahaniyan, Alibag, and Uma. His feature films as the Writer and Director include, Pankh, Terrorist Uncle, Shobhna’s Seven Nights (in Hindi) and Highway (in Bengali). They have been critically acclaimed, winning several awards at various international film festivals including the Houston, Chicago, New York and London film festivals. He has made award winning documentaries like Overture, The Play Is the Thing and Even Gods Lived Here and also made advertising films. He is currently working on his three new feature films in Hindi, Bengali and English as a writer and director. He has also been the editor of a monthly magazine on entertainment and a cultural columnist with a leading English daily. He writes extensively on society, literature, art, culture and cinema. He has written lyrics for feature films in English, Bengali and Hindi and independent albums as well. His anthology of essays, poems and a play --The Day I Stopped Lying (published in 2019), has been received extremely well and won critical acclaim. He is single and lives with his mother, in Mumbai. A Nowhere Man is his debut novel.
