Brigadier (Retd) G B Reddy is the author of six books on National Security Affairs including Rising Dragon: China’s Holistic Security Strategic Perspective (2016); Democracy in Peril: Restructuring Systems or Second Republic (2013); Fight against Corruption and Leadership decay (2011); India’s Nuclear Technology Dilemma: Projections and Realities (2008); Nation in Crisis: Dimensions of National Security and Terrorism (2001); and, In Search of National Values: Withering Secularism, Democracy and Socialism (1993).

Whilst serving as Senior Visiting Fellow and Consultant at National Institute of Rural Development from 2000 to 2005, he authored the book “Building the Traditional with the Modern: Cost Effective Rural Housing Technologies (2005)”. Prolific writer- over 1000 articles - covering social, economic and political issues. Whilst serving in the Indian Army from 1959 to 1993, Reddy had participated in the 1962 India-China War in the North East Frontier Agency (Arunachal Pradesh), India-Pakistan War in Rann of Kutch 1965, Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, and India Peace Keeping Force in Sri Lanka and Counter insurgency operations in Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, West Bengal, J & K and Punjab.

Reddy attended the 1970-1971 the program at the Command and Staff College, Kingston, Canada having qualified in “Competitive Vacancy” in the 1970 Staff College Entrance Examination that gave an opportunity to visit all important military institutions in Canada and USA including visit to THULE base – Northern most land mass towards North Pole.

Attended one-year National Defense College program and one-year Defense Management programs. Served on faculties of the Staff College, College of Combat and the Infantry School.
