Ashwina Garg is a freelance writer and entrepreneur. She is the author of the best-selling book Spicy Bites of Biryani and has contributed to the anthologies Twenty Shades of Love and Broken Bits of the Moon.

Can you please introduce yourself to the world of literature?

I am the author of Spicy Bites of Biryani which was published by Srishti  Publishers. I frequently contribute short stories to Women’s Era and other blogs. 

When did you start writing?

I started writing when I was in school. I liked to contribute to the school and college magazine.

When you published first?

My first book was published in 2013

Describe Ashwina in day to day life?

Most of the time, I am busy running around the kids and when I find time, I write.

What are your hobbies apart from writing?

I like baking, reading and music.

Tell us more about your book ?

Sanjay is US-returned software millionaire determined to have an arranged marriage after selling his company and breaking up with his two-timing girlfriends. Aditi is a commitment-phobic writer who can’t figure out what her next book is about but has perfected the art of break-ups Mayank and Jayshree are the perfect couple.

If only they weren’t dealing with rude relatives, killing deadlines, procreation pressures and those ultimate romance-killers… monotony and boredom! My book traces the lives of these four successful, thirty-something friends who all come to the same conclusion…The hardest thing about having the perfect life is keeping it that way!

How do you manage your writing time?

I am usually very busy but manage to fit in about 1-2 hours of writing a day.

Your favorite writer and why?

I like Stephen King, Sophie Kinsella and Nicolas Sparks because they have a unique voice and are true to what they are.

What are your upcoming projects?

I am working on two novels but I am not in a hurry.

Any tips to the upcoming young generation.

If you dream about being a writer, write everyday but don’t quit your day job. This is a very unpredictable field. There is no one right way to live your life.

Ashwina in one sentence

I am a bit of a Jack of all trades and it works for me. I can’t dedicate myself to just one job.
