I think of myself as a pirouetting spirit, a global citizen having absorbed into my being a range of cultures over the years. This book of debut Poems is a journey of self-discovery. I juggle for multiple roles in my present life, fighting for space and time to fit in my routine the chaotic creative thoughts churning constantly in my mind. Thoughts which at times emerge as words and rhymes popping up unexpectedly catching me unawares. I am a full time working Mom, mother of two little boys grappling with the demands of modern madness of life. A resident of Mumbai, India, my roots are from the ancient land of 'Naura' now known as Kannur (Cannanore), Malabar region of Kerala. Kannur is the land of lores and looms, Theyyams, Kavus and is known as the 'Crown of Kerala'. State of Kerala or Gods Own Country is a mystical land, with liberal sprinkling of temples large and small, nature enshrined 'Kavus' for folk worship and a myriad of art, dance and colorful open air story enactment which now attracts tourists from across the world. Being part of this culture has kindled my interests in the esoteric, mystical spiritual essence of life. I am a science post grad, with a additional sprinkling of management degrees to support my career and IT professional life. However my leanings are towards the creative side. The seeds of Poetry and its appreciation were sown in my early childhood. My writings became sporadic as the clinical demands of career and life took over. However the recent image of a little boy washed up ashore the Aegean Sea - a victim of ongoing Syrian crisis shook my inner complacency and I wrote out the poem A Father's Grief in Sep 2015. Since then I seem to be writing like someone possessed, still finding it difficult to comprehend and accept I am a medium to higher purposes of Peace and Joy from the universe
