A stranded pilot meets a little prince, a pure and innocent traveller from another planet in the Sahara desert. The little prince has many adventures on earth and other planets. He learns about life and love and returns to his planet. The story can be read as an allegory which exposes the vanities of human beings and their pursuit of inessential things.
