I Am Broke, Love Me explores these questions. Armaan is an investment banker in the US, and he is flying high. He has a high paying job, a great girlfriend, Vidisha, and a group of close friends. It seems to him, that, as he is still young, things could only get better with time. Life though, never goes according to a person's plans. It can throw up some pretty startling surprises, some nice, some nasty. For Armaan, it has a nasty surprise in store. The recession in the economy hits everyone, and it delivers a knockout blow to Armaan, as he is laid off. Faced with circumstances that threaten to derail his life, Armaan must look for help and support from the people close to him. But, Vidisha is not near him to lend him support. And, to please his girlfriend, he had turned his back on his friends. Now, when he needs them most, will his friends ignore him or will they help him? Will their friendship be strong enough to forgive his mistakes of the past? Armaan decides to find out. In the middle of all this, Vidisha comes back too.
