Bryony and her best friend Emily have heard mysterious noises in the middle of the night. Concerned that there might be an intruder, the girls tell their housemistress, who assures them that it is most likely just a bird or mouse in the loft.
Then, one night, as she struggles to get to sleep, Bryony sees a strange shape by the dorm window and hears the soft tread of footsteps coming from upstairs. Could there be a ghost haunting Emerald dorm? Her curiosity sparked, Bryony secretly begins to investigate.
