Lewis Helfand was born in 1978 in Philadelphia. Always passionate about comic books, Lewis wrote his very own, Wasted Minute — a story about a world without crime where superheroes are forced to work regular jobs.
After it was well-received, he soon started collaborating with other artists and released several more issues over the next few years. Now Lewis also works outside the field of comic books as a freelance writer and reporter for a number of national print and online publications.

World War Two officially began with Germany’s invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939. In reality, it had been building up for years before that as Adolf Hitler and his Nazi party came to power in Germany. Hitler’s fanatical lust for power drew the entire world into conflict, killed millions of people in combat and in the Holocaust, and saw pain and suffering on a scale not seen before. Witness the major events of World War Two as we follow the fates of some officers, soldiers, journalists, and ordinary families caught up in the whirlwind of horror few could even comprehend or control in this graphic novel adaptation of the war, with specific focus on the action in Europe and Africa.
