Jonathan Norton Leonard came to appreciate Latin American cuisines more than 30 years ago, when he lived in Venezuela, mexico and peru. Later he was latin American editor of time before serving as science editor of the magazine for 20 years.
He is married to a Peruvian and speaks Spanish fluently. Mr. Leonard is the author of Ancient America, a volume in the time-life books great ages of man series.
