Originally from Chile, Olivia Rojas lives in Toronto, Canada. During her time in Canada, she has worked with diverse communities using popular theater and popular education methods. She has written, directed, and produced popular theatre and video productions. Her last funded project was A Legacy, a multidisciplinary photographic installation about the politics of breast cancer. At present, she is writing Awaken, a series of short stories about her mother. She writes a blog about her musings on old age and radically reframing aging. Her poetry is a gathering of lived experiences, rescued from the wreckage of the world and her life journey through it that ought to be expressed. Olivia writes as an authentic way to express herself.

Nothing Changes reflects the important decisions that must be made in order to overcome the past. Through this collection, the notion that resilience can overcome any and all events and stages of life is a powerful message. The poems depict the changes within the cultural issues of the world and explore how our identities are shaped by the past, memory and experience. Nothing Changes is a quest for catharsis through poetry - a woman's uncompromising sense of liberty, determined to confront and understand her experience of a world that has been challenging, a world that is constantly changing and yet, in myriad ways it remains the same.
